Dr Foote's Story
From urban Chicago Il to rural Tuscola Il - animal behavior brings it all together
As a new graduate veterinarian, I saw that I was prepared with medical science, but lacked understanding the animal in my care. A small taste of behavior education came my way when I was a summer intern heading a breeding colony of cats at the University of Illinois. Now I needed much more to help my clients.
Every chance I had, I took lectures in behavior at veterinary conferences, met and befriended other veterinarians, and trainers leading the field. After an immersion weekend in animal behavior educationat Purdue University, I began taking consultations at my practice Okaw Veterinary Clinic, Tuscola Il.
